About the E-Book

Hamlet: The Undiscovered Country is no longer available for purchase as an e-book. Here’s why it was:

You can print the book for fireside reading, but some things you just can’t do in a printed book. The Undiscovered Country is loaded with hyperlinks throughout. So when you’re reading about a line in the graveyard scene, for instance, there are links that take you straight to the line in the modern-spelling version (1914 Oxford edition), or in the original editions: First Quarto, Second Quarto, and First Folio. Or to an online facsimile of the First Folio.

You’ll also find links to primary documents all over the web, like the Amleth stories from Saxo Grammaticus and Belleforest (Shakespeare's main sources for the story), and the 1559 Book of Common Prayer.

So there are no footnotes. None needed. All the references are right in the text.

Finally, there’s no cost of goods, so we can sell the book for only $5, and make more than we would on royalties from a traditional publisher.

Visitors interested in hearing about the print edition when it is published may subscribe to receive email notification. (Messages are sent very rarely to this list, and you can unsubscribe at any time.)
